  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Tiny lens / filming in tiny space methods?

We are planning a shot where the lens needs to be filming into a small mirror that measures approximately one square inch. It seems to me that using PL mount cine glass would not be possible, but perhaps I'm just not privy to certain methods?

I remember reading about the Frazier lens system many years ago which allowed for similar kinds of shots, maybe something like this is what we need. Maybe that method has evolved since then into something better?

Perhaps another camera system that has simply a "lens on a wire" or something? Quality of course is a concern as well.

Being able to zoom a bit might be a plus, as I'm sure once this is all set up, some correction would possibly need to be done (to make sure the edges of the mirror aren't getting in the shot for example).

Would love to know any suggestions or thoughts, thanks.

Research:
pitching lens
snorkel lens
periscope lens
borescope
kenworthy lens
Frazier

The mirror should probably be a first surface mirror unless you want a double image.
