Hey everyone!

I'm wanting to attempt my first time lapse this weekend. It's all a little confusing since most of what you find out there is for DSLR... Can anyone share settings for a pretty time lapse? I'm wanting slow to normal cloud movement during a sunset at a hotel in New Orleans this weekend where I'll be shooting a wedding. They aren't expecting it, so if it fails no big deal - I would just like to be able to have one if possible. What are base settings (I know I'll have to handle exposure and everything manually)? I would like to shoot at least 4kHD to have room to make a "tilt" effect during the lapse. Also, do you expose the building that the sunset is behind, or do you expose for the sky? It seems like that would silhouette the building though, right?

I appreciate any help!! Oh, and I'm shooting on a Scarlet M-X

I would suggest a Graduated ND filter, top to horizon/ center. It works really great for landscape shots. I use them a lot for time laps work.
It will keep the sky at right exposure and the ground and buildings not under exposed.

Give it a try. ; )
