I've noticed an odd bug related to timecode jamming. Happening on 2 cameras running build 16 3.2.5.

I jam the cameras with a lockit box and everything syncs perfectly with my dual system audio. but...

Occasionally at around the hour change (ie 01.57.00.00) the camera TC slip back by about an hour (becoming ie 01.00.00.00). The next clip recorded once past the hour change is fine again (ie 02.01.00.00).

This is without the powering down of the camera (and losing sync) and with this exception the clips will continue to be fine at al other times.

So far I have only noticed this at times around .57, .58. 59 minutes before the hour change.

Also, forgot to add I can rule out the lockit box as the fault as I am only jamming and then removing the box (it does not stay on camera all the time). Even so this affected both cameras on a dual take at the same time...

Rum and uncanny. Any suggestions?

Jeff,

we just started a 45 day production yesterday using Lockit boxes. We will be on the lookout for this bug. What framerate are you shooting in and what are your dip switch settings on the Lockit, if I may ask?

Cheers and good luck,
Fredrik

Hi Fred

Not yet - submitted it to tech support. It's no biggie for me - more often than not the camera team forget to jam it when they change the battery anyway...!

Hi Jeff

Curious. Which model of Lockit box are you using?

Hi Eric

This was on a feature back in September last year so I can't remember. It was the green Lockit box(?).

Never heard back from Red but wasn't a major problem- just manually sunk via the clapper for those shots.

I haven't used the same setup since so it may well be irrellevant to later builds...

Cheers

I had a 6 camera Red shoot, the lock-it boxes were great in the morning and about 8 hours into it many started slipping all over. I assume they all needed new batteries.
