Is there any way to sync timecode audio like the merge clip button in FCP?

its still in beta.. they offer you to try the beta for CS5 now.. and needs any audio to be recorded on the camera using any microphone for audio reference..
watch the video you'll get their point on how it is being done..

Really? I can't sync my timecoded audio in premiere? I took a look at that product. Seems to be made for concerts and weddings... I unfortunatley have a multi folder, true multi take feature film... oh boy.:frown2:

i think it works for any project that have a recorded audio track on the camera..
there is of course issues of milliseconds of sync about this as audio travels 1 foot every 1 ms.. then calculate the difference.. so its a problem if your mics are separated by 30 more feet away from each other.. 40ms is about one frame of de-sync..

It works very well for multi-track productions, we had a theatre project recently with 4 cameras. There were only two short tracks we needed to sync by hand, the rest (more than 200) went fine. It can even sort the clips into the right position, but that will take quite some time.

The beta for PPro is still having problems with some audio formats, in case you don't use REDs only. But I think it's going to be great.

OTOH, Adobe is very aware of this shortcoming.

A theatre show is basically the same thing as a concert or a wedding... it's one event covered by multiple cameras.

I have multiple takes/angles, of the same exact scene and will be cross cutting audio files to suite whatever take is currently on the screen.

I have video in one folder labeled by days
and another audio folder with multiple channels in a seperate folder.

What I ended up doing was to create additional sequences matching a video to an audio track with markers, then using the sequence into the timeline to edit.

Not fast or an ideal solution, but it keeps things together.

I can't believe I am saying this, but I will probably have to use my Mac to sync the timecode... then have to transcode back to CS :(

no need to transcode.. sync in FCP.. put the footage on a timeline.. export .xml.. then import it back to premiere and voila.. you're done..

Yep. Works fine here.

Sorry, that's what I meant lol. Still sucks how amazing would it be if plural eyes could sync timecode!? It would save me a couple interns lol.
