I have most of the pieces in place to get some Aerial footage on a JetRanger in WA state's North Cascades on Thur (weather window). That said the following remains and I'm looking for insight/solution suggestions from those with experience:
-Insurance: Short term liability insurance for the nose mount I'm renting from Oppenheimer in Seattle. I've tried Taylor and Taylor (via suggestion from Tyler Camera Systems), they only offer annual which is $5k. I've tried Athos and they can't offer liability. I have a call into Entertainment Partners insurance and another local Seattle company and am waiting to hear back, but does anyone know of a broker that offers this?
-Controlling the Epic from the JetRanger cockpit. I've been advised not to use the Red remote as it's not 100% reliable in the air. Could a longer LEMO cable be used to control the Red LCD? Are there any other options for minimum record start/stop and exposure monitoring? Has anyone done something like this and what worked best for you?
Any insight appreciated. If you know someone who has the type of insurance above and is avail to assist I'd also like to talk to them.
This is for a personal project I've been working on for years that includes motion controlled time-lapses from the summits of mtns like Mt. Rainier (I'm a climber/photographer) (early rough trailer https://vimeo.com/27133765). I'm trying to wrap it up with some aerial footage of some of the peaks I've climbed.
