Time Lapse is functional in the Lab..... Time Lapse you guys should see in the next big Build, along with Speed Ramping.
Hi Jarred,
is there also an option to trigger exposure externally using a wheel stlye controller?
Thinking of an external wheel controller or even the REDMOTE (or the new REDMOTE) to control exposure frame rate between an user defineable minimum FPS and maximum FPS, so one can control the ramp interactively?
On the RED ONE we tried triggering externally, but by design it didn't even recognized higher exposure rates than like 7 FPS, starting from 8 FPS it randomly dropped exposures completely. Has this been resolved with EPIC?
How fast can we go?
I assume that this cable is the one to choose (or make a custom one): http://www.red.com/store/products/3bnc-to-00-lemo-sync-cable
Correct?
I also want to put the EPIC on one of our 3DS RAX motion control rigs (see here: http://www.magnamana.com/products/ and here http://www.magnamana.com/products/s3d-rax-stop-motion-rig/) and doing time-lapse session with these at ultra-high motion precision.
We can trigger the camera by the rig itself, but the point is the camera has to stay really in sync with the external trigger. Delays like we've seen them from the RED ONE are not acceptable. Stuart English explained me once that this was a design flaw in the RED ONE, but that it should be resolved in new cameras. I just have not yet found information if it really has been fixed in EPIC. I assume it is fixed, but if one around tried already and confirm this, it would be a great help.
Cheers,
Axel
