Anyone have any idea when the Epic will have time lapse intervals longer than 1 second?

It's a bit of a restriction to not be able to shoot longer intervals with the Epic. Seems like almost every digital camera today has longer interval choices.

For right now I shoot all of my timelapse for exposures over 1sec at 1fps with my 5D3. The Epic is useful for shooting timelapse but the 5D3 is an amazing timelapse camera. If that's what you would mainly be doing I would say get a 5D3.

recently i got 5D3 and ISO performance is far better than 5D2& Epic..You dont wanna shoot with Epic if you get 5D3

Yeah, shooting on the 5D3 for timelapse is awesome. Still I like shooting on my Epic. It is just better suited for real-time and slow-mo.

Right tool for the right job... As much as I love the EPIC, for long exposure and time-lapse work the 5D3 and Nikon D800 rule at the moment. Can't wait to see what Dragon brings to the table though...

yes, my 5D Mark III is great and the Mark II and the Red One MX all the other cameras i have that do time lapse with longer intervals than one second ...but tough to always have on hand during the shoot two cameras, two sets of batteries, two different kinds of baseplates, two sets of lenses for different mounts, etc.

sounds like the hint from the moderator is that they're holding that feature out and making it available to those who purchase the Dragon upgrade

I get chip sparkle on times as long as a second on the EPIC.... Best to use the Canon or nikon DSLR fot time lapse.
Just did a time lapse 1 hour ago... looks like dust or something on screen, bit its infact a white digital specs.
Bit like a 10 year old NIKON d1x when they came out. they had the same problem.

Does anyone know of a good time-lapse camera that does not have to thrash a big shutter for each exposure ?
Using RED would be so nice, but the sensor management for long exposures is not their priority.

Perhaps a higher end point and shoot crossover camera, with a smaller lighter shutter ?
I can't keep track of all the cameras coming out these days.

To eliminate the white dots or 'chip sparkle', you simply need to perform a black calibration to suit the framerate.
