Let's see.

If I wait and order it from B&H for $1,199 with Free Shipping and No Tax my total cost is $1,199.00

Using the Group Buy I'll pay $1,099 + $50 Shipping plus Bank of America charges $45 for an outbound International Wire in US Dollars so a total cost of $1,194

Save $5 LOL

I realize we will probably get it a bit sooner, but for the hassle of figuring out how to send a wire payment, I'll just wait till it hits the stores and spend $5 more.

Even if I like groupbuys, I think its often worth to pay more and get items from your regular dealer if possible. I think its just much easier if somethings is wrong and need to be replaced etc.

Guys. Feel free to drop out. No need to complain here. If it's not for you it isn't. You're not being forced to join this or any group buy. Also, it's not just about savings, it's about getting the product before anyone else. Some people like to be the first, others don't care about that.

But to start a thread claiming it only saves $5...really? And you do know that you can pay via credit card right?

Tilta's margin on this has got to be extremely slim. Thank you to them, and to Chris (!!), for getting it out to us so reasonably. Hopefully, the economies of scale spurred by the GB make it worth doing for Tilta.

IMHO, even sight unseen, the "M" is a gamble worth taking. It is attempting to answer questions that nothing else even double or triple the price can. Keslow techs have told me that Tilta has been doing their homework on wireless FF and the single channel system is quite solid. If the M meets expectations, no guarantee the price of today will be the price of tomorrow. I feel we are being granted VIP entry at a temporary price point as early adopters. Adopters who will put the gear out there and establish its worth.

Also, we are buying direct from the manufacturer, and not paying a retailer's markup. That is something that could also eventually change. My .02....

Not complaining mate. Appreciate your GBs and jumped on the Shuttle Dolly one. Was just saying with something like this it made sense to me to wait until there is real work feedback from owners. I can only be the beta tester for so much gear at a time :)
