So I'm emailing this message to RED, Tilta, and Freefly because I'm not quite sure where the issue lies. Hopefully someone can provide guidance! In the meantime, I thought if anyone here has experience with these, maybe I could find some help here.

I'm using the Tilta A1 Expander on my RED Epic-W (Firmware 7.0.1) on the Movi Pro (tested this on 1.3 and 1.4 Beta firmware) along with a RED RCP Cable from the Movi Pro's CAM Molex port to the Tilta expander's CTRL port. The issue is that I can't seem to get any of the settings from the RED to show up on the Movi Pro's RED control interface.

I read online that some different triggering mechanisms were changed between RED Base Expanders and the Jetpack expanders but I'm not sure how the Tilta expander comes into play here. Is there something I'm missing?

Freefly recommends that RED only Jetpack Expanders be used for RCP Control due to the RED protocols that were initially out when the Movi Pro was released. Go to the Freefly forum there is a thread specifically about protocols. As for the Tilta Expander, you may have to do some reseaching to see of if its possible Freefly made a accomodation for Tilta Expanders in assigning protocols between the Movi Pro and DSMC2 Modules, probably not though since the Tilta Expanders were not out initially during the initial production of the Movi Pro. Third-Party add-ons get a little finicky as far as workflow goes especially when you are looking at 3 different companies.

Call me crazy, but I figured RED's "ctrl" port would stay the same across expanders. What's the point in having standard ports and then not having them be standardized? And while we are looking at 3 different companies, two of them were following the lead of RED. So it's not like they are all just doing their own thing. Tilta is approved by RED, so it's not like they ran off and did their own thing.
