I'm interested in the new Tilta cages for DSMC2 and they have a basic I/O which has 2x SDI outputs, and their advanced has XLR input with phantom, 3x SDI out, 2x 3 pin and 2x 2 pin power. That seems vary interesting to me over the RED basic I/O. Especially for the price point - $2599 gets you the basic I/O with a full cage, and $2999 for the advanced I/O and cage. My question is are there any issue that could occur with a non RED I/O module?

Thanks!

In theory there shouldn't be a problem. Red opened the doors to 3rd party development with the new bodies (Omod, tilta, movcam etc all doing modules). So it's all legal (no reverse engineering) and something they're, hopefully, doing together with red. Now what can happen is problems with specific products, be quality control or anything else... But we will only find out when it's in the wild and people test it.

Ah, thank you. I think I'll try out Tilta's I/O. I really like the fact of having 2x SDI outs. The only downside is it makes the camera longer. RED's I/O is super slim.
