Have you guys seen this insane video? I think it's AMAZING. It's already got over 2.5 million hits, and it's only been out 2 weeks. From some of the BTS pics, it looks like it was shot on EPIC/SCARLET (I'm guessing Epic).

Someone else posted about this last night, but can't find the thread. But 24hrs ago, it only had 1.6 million hits, so this thing is BLOWING UP!

Check it out. Shot by Zoe Rain Baxter.

Saw it yesterday too. Looks like the Epic as the body is black and has side ribs that the Scarlet doesn't have.

Fun and clever song. The cinematography is definitely not why you'd watch this video haha

If you like Macklemore... you will probably appreciate this dude Spose from Maine.

Haha, yeah the lighting isn't exactly great, but....I have to say I love the fact that the DP lived on WIDES a lot, which for comedy is gold. I know it's a cliche, but it f*cking works, especially here. Too often I see people shoot comedy, and they are on a portrait lens the whole time...which can work...but here it looks like they are on an 18mm (or there abouts) a lot of the time, and I love it. They still got portrait coverage on a 50 or 85 sometimes (I'm guesstimating obv), so that coverage exists...but a lot of the setups are nailed wide, and I love that.

And yeah..its a lot of natural lighting, with what looks like an Arri kit raking in on one side...but that being said, so many of the compositions and setups are GREAT. Just flat out hilarious.

So I commend them, though I hear what you are saying. For me, this is an example of content is king. If this team goes on..on the next one...and brings in an awesome G&E team...WOW...what they could do.

My point is...comedy is hard...and they nailed it.

that's great.

"but shit, it was ninety nine cents..."

there should be more songs about old things and more videos with older people. there is a reason Obama, Marquez, Poe, Whitman, and the best screenwriters focus on older characters... here is a video I shot, doesn't operate like this one, but there are two middle aged characters in it who make took the whole crazy weekend to a strange other level. it would've been less without them.

Nice...how'd you get those highlights to bloom so much? I loved that. Are you on Super Speeds? With diffusion? Just curious. Love the girls in blue dancing in the middle. GREAT.

Actually Zeiss Contax and old filters. 21mm, 28mm f/2, 35mm f/1.4 for the interior wides. the filter package for the dance number was thicker than my grandmas eggplant. but way more important--

one of the two older ladies turned out to be a carpenter. the directors knit that tent in their bushwick apartment but assumed it would sort of stand on a crown of PVC somehow. thankfully the woman who went crazy inspiring odd dances out students turned out to have tools to whittle stakes and rope to tie the whole thing down in her car.

another reason you need older people in music videos.

Shot on the Epic from what I was told by my buddies who worked on this. I also know that the camera went for a dive, head first on the lens (RPZ) because of the Operator not locking the plate in proper.

This Song is Burning up the Charts too. Radio Djs here in Houston are Playing it on Request every 5 minutes..... Thrift Store, Please....

Too Funny!!! I just played this on the jukebox at Lucky's pub in Cypress over the weekend just to be silly. Damn song and video is addicting! Unfortunately I don't get much radio or TV (cuz I'm a computer crack-head), but it makes me want to see what's playing on 97.9/104 these days.

Clearly Epic:

Based on the pronounced ribs on the Epic's body.

Look at that shitty shoulder rig. hahahaha.

I like the message of the song for once in hip hop.

Here's another good version. Sounds like the same background singer.

6 Million hits, as of the Ides of March 2013.
