I haven't posted in quite some time. However I've stayed around like the lot of you, lurking and reading new posts, waiting for more info to be released.

I've been reading Steve Jobs biography since it came out (stay with me here) And couldn't help but notice the similarities in Mr. Jobs and Mr. Jannard. Steve was obsessive to a fault about making a near perfect product. Down to the way even the parts inside that you'd never see would look. From Jim's posts I imagine he's similar in his quest for perfection albeit with a different product. Steve changed the world with computers, Jim's doing it with cameras.

I digress and I can't wait for November 3rd. Even if I can't afford the camera, I'm excited to see an industry changing product

Here's to the crazy ones

Cheers

I see the idea but you need only read here a bit to see how much more important Jim is than Steve. Insofar as RED is actually part of your soul, we can see how it affects the world far more than any Apple product ever will. Also, there is a lot of hype and hyperbole and silly statements around Apple products where there is none of that with RED.

N3 will be here soon and whether it's M43 or not (and we here in SoCali don't care which) it's gonna change the direction of cinema and culture.

I find the cognitive dissonance in this statement amusing.

Having said that I do respect what Jim is doing... A LOT. But he would say Mr. Jobs is still miles ahead of him in his contribution to society - I don't think that lead will last long.

The biggest difference is that RED is more like a business to business compagnie. But that may chance in the future. I think Red is going to extend to consumer 4K players and tv's in the near future, and then take the world.

I should have said that on N4 Jim will be miles ahead of Steve. I've heard that Nelson Mandela has heard about Jim's incredible work and wants to meet with him.
