Likely very few of you ever have a chance to see the region where Santa comes from. The place is called Korvatunturi and it's located near the Artic Circle in Northern Finland.

The images below are panorama made of frames grabbed from a Red One footage shot couple days ago nearby the official Santa Claus region but on the Russian territory. This region is the largest uniform/connected wilderness region in Europe.

At this time of year on a bright cold day the colors and intensity of light is spectacular. In simple words, this is the beauty of northern arctic light. And yes, the camera ran beautifully although had no cover and it was windy and temperature below -25C.

Best wishes for Xmas for everybody!

Great Back Country Skiing :)

But where is Santa's sled :)

burr, looks cold. Nice to hear the camera performed without a hitch in those conditions...

Thanks Lauri!

Lovely pictures ...really! I assume you did not use the EVF for this as mine really does not like the cold much below -5 C...did you use the LCD? and did you keep the camera warm prior to shooting or let it chill? Batteries? I am heading into our deep freeze for a few months and any cold temp advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Taylor

Thank you for sharing your beautiful images!

Good shooting and best regards,

Great Back Country Skiing :)

But where is Santa's sled :)

Santa skipped the sled this year, going completely bonkers over
Swedish territory.

Merry Christmas
