  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

This is very interesting...it is how horror movies work...and magicians also.
 
haha, yeah i saw this, it's hilarious, love it... somebody posted it somewhere - totally got me the first time, but i was too worried about whether the white tennis shoes counted. i hate trick questions.

Just that they distract your attention in a way so that the cut gives you a little extra jolt or surprise.
If there were continuous editing shots on a certain part of the frame then a cut to a different part of the frame
might be more unexpected.

This is not really an example of that editing trick...but they do other things to make the reveal little bit of a shock.
Hard to believe this little film got turned into a feature just based on such a little short. The director actually had no
featue script for this movie. In fact he made the short just as practice for another movie he really wanted to make. And
he was sitting on this short film for a year before he had time and figured it was worth it to finish the post on it.

 
Wow, I dunno. I totally saw the you-know-what. I missed one toss but that may have been someone obscuring the person.

I thought the old trope was that if you wanted to hide something in a shot just add a girl in a bikini. That distracts most viewers.
