I don't mean the singer, I mean Brazilian the girl who is reciting a translation of Omar Khayyam's The Rubaiyat in Portuguese:

The two most beautiful languages, Persian and Portuguese.....

Does anyone know what audio filter she is using to create that otherworldly "reverb" effect?

thanks. what filter do you think this girl is using? it's probably a simple one.

I'm listening to this on my laptop so I can't hear it too well.

No roll off of the high frequencies over time points to artificial reverb vs. an actual acoustic space.

It could be just a simple reverb filter with a long decay time.

I'll give a closer listen when I get back to my audio workstation.

I think it's not due to the audio effect. :)

...

Sounds like a balsam for the soul...

So gentle and soothing... especially by the end.

...

Like the song from the Greek RED video... you don't understand it, but you can feel it...

Yep, I got mesmerized by the Greek song. :)

(Some) girls are divine creatures... and angels from heaven...

... or at least sound like ones. :)

...

Peace and love.

Tom, I agree with you 100%. But, then again, any language is beautiful, as long as it's being spoken by the *right* person.

Italian's nice.... Spanish is nice... Swedish is nice... Swahili and Japanese is nice... so, by now, I'm sure you get the drift.

Don't you agree?

:shifty:

BTW... is that Portugal Portuguese you were talking about? Or Brazilian Portuguese? 'Cause that would be the topic of another whole whimsical conversation....

Somehow Brazilian Portuguese seems nicer....

Swahili is very sing-song and beautiful, I agree.

Honestly, I don't think Swedish can compete. :)

Damn, not only do those hip not lie...they tell a million libidinous stories to me...lol

Tom, you're right about portuguese-it's a most sensual, smooth sounding language, even with a Portugal accent, but the Rio de Janeiro accent is just the juiciest. The thing with portuguese is it always sounds nice and wet, whereas Italian, Spanish, French, an Romanian sound more dry. Teutonic and anglo-saxon languages sound kinda military and monotonic.

You should've met my Swedish girlfriends then... One of them was even the daughter of German parents. Like I say, good sweet nothings whispered just right in one's ears have no language, nationality, race or creed. It could be pig Latin, for all I care. The attack on the senses is EVERYTHING.

Trust me on this one, Tom.

Cheers!

Okay, I gotta agree with you. I have an Icelandic girl I hang out with....

Very nice! I love way Brazilian women sound. Usually not too bad to look at either I might add.

It kinda reminds me of a song featuring Milla Jovovich in which she recites a poem by Rumi. But that one is in english....
