Hello
I'm new here
After doing some project with HX200 and DSLR been now inspired of Red Scarlet ...
I was thinking to order Scarlet but I have a monitor tvlogic which works fine it will help me in mine budget to do with only the the side handle to choice the menus , will this combo work ??

Also want to see and have experience with the scarlet R3D footage I look some history to download some files from Scarlet but almost all of them are dead.
I appreciates with some links where I can download some Scarlet R3d files

Thanks

Yeah that works. That's what I do but I use the redmote instead of the side handle. Redmote plus external LCD is definitely the cheapest option, and I find the redmote has more functionality since you can control most functions with the redmote's lcd, and you can do it all wirelessly or docked for less money and with less size/weight than the side handle. Then again the side handle may be worthwhile if you like holding the camera like a DSLR or if you plan to use redvolts, but redvolts are very low capacity for the price, so they aren't a great budget option.

Only thing to be careful of is I find the tvlogic doesn't work that well with Scarlet's HDMI. Mine takes 20seconds to display Scarlet's signal, and I even sent in my tvlogic to get the newest firmware and it didnt fix it. Anyway, its fine if you use HD-SDI instead, so it shouldn't be a problem really.

there are also plenty of folks looking to sell their Scarlet and upgrade to the Epic. Perhaps you might find a local person and save some cash. Red has a great program for transferring ownership (as long as they are the official owners) and evaluating and fixing the used cameras. Just a thought.

The cost of your battery solution is something to really consider. If you choose V-mount or Anton/Bauer, you have to get a camera mounting plate, A red compatible battery mount, a battery charger and the batteries themselves. Things can add up.

just buy an epic

Thank for all your advices but Epic going much too far for mine budget the risk of invetsment must be realistic
I'm not a commercial movie maker mine productions are almost all documentaries or fictive movies which I visit film festivals tend to art work .
We all know it's hard times for the artist in this crisis......
