  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

thinking of buying this, what do u think

it is for 16mm film, so it might work at 2K, but it for sure will not cover anything larger than that.

Very poor optical performance. I would consider something else.

Only covers 2k- true, poor optical performance- false. It is a very fast. Sharp lens

Nick is correct on both counts.
Cheers,
Harry

One of the sharpest zooms ever made for the 16mm format.

look into the converted for super 16 12-120 T2.4, though i have a feeling smart BMC owners are going to be hunting for this as well.

I've work with the T2 10-100 Zeiss zoom a lot during my time as camera assistant in the late 80's to the early 90's. It is a fine lens but has few quirks.

Minimum focus at 10mm focal length was 5 feet. The lens will start to porthole at the edge of a Standard 16mm frame. Minimum focus from memory went down to 3 foot 6 inches.

It is indeed a true T2 zoom throughout all its focal lengths as well as having a Macro function at the Wide end (10mm) of the zoom.

If the lenses is badly maintained, the zoom will move on its own if you tilt the lens straight up or down.

Also the focus markings are really approximates. From what I was told, they matched the lens to closest matching focus engraved ring. Thus a assistant should remark this lens for accuracy.

The Zeiss was eventually superseded by the Canon zooms for resolution.

the BMC sensor is slightly larger than s16, do you really think it covers the sensor of the BMC?
