So one of the things I love about the Epic, which really was more needed on the R1, is the ability to hot swap batteries. With the Epic we got the side handle with a RedVolt and life was good. But currently with the weapon, it seems we've taken a step back unless you want to buy the RedVolt expander. Sure, you could just use the RedVolt XL module...unless you want to use the new ET V-Mount plate (which I totally do) So your only option to currently allow hot swap is to get the RedVolt Expander, unless you hang a separate v-moun battery plate off the back which goes into the DC power port.

I would love to see a thin 1/2"-3/4" plate that has a 30WH battery in it that could go between the the new v-mount plate and the brain. You would be able to allow for hotswapping without adding a lot of bulk to the camera. Does anyone else like this idea?

Off Hollywood NY has a similar solution...check their new modules!

I don't know what you are seeing, but the OMOD LT is the smallest module they offer with the internal battery cartridge and it's huge (looks to be the size of the current RED Pro I/O)

I was thinking the same, but actually have this small batterie built in the V-mount plate.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind that either. But it probably would be easier to make a different module than build it in at this point.
