I've been managing the storage and quality control for the Red material on a feature film as well as on a shortfilm and I was wondering what kind of working title I really belong to.
A guy at a posthouse suggested "R3D manager" and "quality control", but I dunno about that. It's clearly more then just logging the material. I work close with the cinematographer on location so that he and the director gets the best possible image, so it needs an eye for working with images.

What can a "Second Assistant Camera R3D manager & Quality control" be called?

So the job you describe sounds apart of the camera and post departments, which sounds very close to a DIT (Digital Intermediate Technician). The position translates a DoP's vision onto a medium he may or may not know very well. DIT's who read this will give you an amazing amount of other duties they have but, it's close.

Another would be the Data Wrangler, or Media manager and any combination there-of.

I hope that helps.

Either a 2nd AC or a Loader, depending on the production.
A DIT generally deals with camera issues, not loading and data wrangling - at least if we're talking about the term as it was meant to be used. If we're talking about smaller, nonunion, individual productions, I guess it can mean whatever anyone says it means - just like a lot of other terminology these days.
