So, for us, the Red users, we seem to be in one of those "calm before the storm" moments again. The Red Team is working hard on the next breakthrough after the release of B16. And it seems like everyone else is working hard too, in the "things for the Red" category.

But there's maybe a little bit of a lull for the rest of us. Okay, so we don't need a new thing every second (actually, maybe we do), but I've learned patience here. And I will do my best to practice it.

What I'm waiting for at the moment:

-The obvious: Scarlet, Epic, Monstro, Red Raid
-The iPin, audio board upgrade
-16GB Cards
-Element Technica Shoulder Mount
-Adobe Natively supporting R3D
-View Factor Follow Focus
-Color natively supporting R3D
-Toys 4 Red Breakout Box
-Everything Natively Supporting R3D
-Possible Red approval of the P+S Techniks IMS mount
-Red Ranch (I am from Vegas)

Too many n00bs trying the camera, no idea what they're doing, so they blame the camera. It's clearly a fantastic TOOL, but it is a tool, it's not going to shoot the movie for you! haha.

I cannot wait to get a RED, but I am glad I waited because I think on our shoestring budgets, and for the type of projects I've been doing (corporate, music videos, industrials, etc.), I think it was not wise to have the RED yet. But I'm ready to pick up a RED next year, because I want to use it for a feature, I won't shoot a feature with the HVX200, to me that's a joke. Camera isn't everything but if I'm going to spend so much time on preparation and going over every last detail, the last thing I want to worry about is the camera not being good enough for what I'm trying to do.

I wonder if a lot of the post workflow complaints will be resolved in the coming 6 months. I was just hoping to have my RED about next summer or so, figuring if I ordered end of this year / start of next I could get it then.

One day I am leaning optica Elte. Then I have another look at the RED prime set... And I ordered the 18-85 pretty early.

What to do, if you don't want the 18-50 or old russian lenses without gear for riddicilous prices...
