  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

What already sold out!!! wow the was fast. i just need to have GDU and Red have free access to my bank account!

am I the only one looking forward to the Michael Bay handles?
 
Jarred, please set some "Bayham" dual and single sided GDU side handles aside for me :-). Consider this my pre-pre-order :-).

yup.. that's kinda how real wood works. Everyone is different and there is no such thing as a bad pattern.

Burlwood and the Carbon Forged look pretty insane together. Cowboys and Aliens.

Awesome! Maybe the October update can bring us up to speed on how that's going.

I've been debating, and I think the Scarlet-W is still the best camera for my needs. Hoping the Epic-W deal clears a bunch of you out of the queue so I can get my finally hands on it!

Was going to do an October update on the weekend but doesn't make a lot of sense yet. What happens next week is really going to sway an October update.. depending on how many people roll over to Epic-W it will likely affect the Scarlet-W que tremendously in one way or the other.

But you can notice from social media and here the amount of people being allocated cameras have gone dramatically up this month, even without the Epic-W thing. We continue to ship em out as fast as we can and some day hopefully soon that will actually be fast enough :)

Don't think it will. But 3.1 is a huge improvement. Be careful USB-C comes in flavors, not all is TB3. And cables have ratings also. Don't use a USB c cable that is not rated for TB3 power requirements.
 
Don't need TB3 for this.. USB 3.1 is already faster than the cards can offload, and if we put TB3, as awesome as it is, the size would grow dramatically and the cost would almost double, and the cables would cost 5x the price .

The gangster move would be to get a TB3 to 4 port USB 3.1 hub and plug 4 of these into it like a little stack.. that would be the way to take advantage of the rockstar that TB3 is.
 
Great news for everybody! Hopefully I get my Weapon Upgrade soon back. Cant wait to shoot again...

I love it. The TB3 hub is definitely in my future. I guess we'll reserve TB3 for the 1800/mbs 2TB Redmags next year.

I'm awaiting a Razer Core, which is exactly that plus a bigass power supply and a PCIe slot with space enough to house a full-sized graphics card... :)

When will your RED app and Cinematography Tool web page be updated to include the Helium Sensor (for FOV, data rates, space required, etc.)?

I've definitely seen some allocations happening here and there. As a Jan 8 timestamp I know it'll still take awhile to get to mine, but I'm glad to see you guys are cranking them out! Rock on!
