This may be too big of a question for the Fire Chief, but if he's chatty you just never know lol.
I'd love to hear what you like most about the new EW that maybe wasn't in the last generation Epic, besides the 8K of course.

Sensor Aside... Form Factor. The DSMC2 body and all it brings along with it really is incredible. Foolcontrol and the wireless bits.. the in camera Proxies.. list goes on,

price table;

white limited edition heliums sold from $ 49K
Epic-H should be less than this right? lets say $ 40K
Epic-W $ 35K
am i close?

Epic-w is helium

I think you mean weapon helium and it is 49k same as stormtroopers

Nope.. you actually got all of them wrong :)

Curious, what does RED do with all the cameras that get traded in? Anyone?

I would suspect they get recertification before being used as R&D models, assigned to sales reps, demo cameras at stores, trade show's, given or sold to university film programs, sold to military and or enterprise customers.

We have a pretty extensive Educational program that a good chunk goes to. And we have some "special" gov customers that we can't talk about that go through a lot of cameras.

Jarred, Is it possible to "Recycle/Reuse" those dragon sensors at all for raven/Scarlet-w builds? or are you only putting brand new sensors in new builds? im curious too

Hey Jarred, will there be new Helium specific OLPF's ?

Im sure there will be some special look filters made.. but with DSMC2 we removed the sensor specific low pass bits from the swappable OLPF filters and put them directly on the sensor glass, which means you don't need a specific OLPF to go from sensor to sensor with DSMC2, you just change them for color and fx.

Helium is phenomenally accurate in terms of color reproduction right out of the gate so it can use a huge array of color filters in front of that low pass.
