  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I really hope the Scarlet Dragon upgrade path isn't a trade in... I still have Scarlet Dragon in my RED.com account name, but I sold the body. :( (however, if I kept the body, then I wouldn't have the funds to do the upgrade anyway, so same end result on my part, if it is a trade in.)

I would love you guys forever if it was the same upgrade package as Scarlet-W order: "you have Scarlet Dragon on your account? YES? Check here, and order! :)

In the time it took me to write the post the answer was posted, that's the speed around here! Thanks for confirming though.

I'm curious about the drunken finance plan, and whether that might apply in the UK as well?
Anything to help on that side would be very welcome. Like pay Red monthly for the rest of your life and keep the cameras flowing...

Was hoping (against hope - LOL) that this might have been a keep old camera and get new one deal (Epic Dragon & old SSD user here - so waaaayyyy behind on the upgrade path :)... but the Fire Chief has spoken!

My other half will be happy - funds are limited and it means (more than likely) no new body/camera fun for me - so she gets to spend anything spare now :)

Or since I already have a Scarlet-W deposit (abit SD owner package), give up the SD discount, can I go with the normal Scarlet-W deposit to Epic-w deal?
 
Things have finally started to calm down a little here! Haha. All this news today is amazing!!!! And Brent's office is really starting to smell nice, haha
 
Wondering if there will be an update for Red Apple Workflow Installer for FCPX to import and handle 8K R3D files?

You might have time for that option. Again, offer end date is based off of orders so will be fluid.

Of course, you can switch to that. Or just ride out till you get SCARLET-W...

We alerted SDK folks awhile back that this was coming down the pike...
 
I have a Scarlet-W (Dragon Owner) Package ordered from Dec. 10 (not yet allocated). I definitely want to go to Epic-W for one of my two Red cameras (hoping to end up with a Scarlet-W and Epic-W).

If I keep my existing Scarlet-W order, can I still do the upgrade for my scarlet dragon to epic-w or does it lose it's eligibility since I'm using it to quality for the Scarlet-W Discounted Package. I would totally understand if that's the case, I'm not trying and don't want to take advantage of you guys giving us such a great deal, just looking into and trying to understand my options to see what my smartest course of action will be here at the end of the day.

I figure my backup option is to place a second scarlet-w deposit (brain only)(assuming that's okay), upgrade it to Epic-W on the 11th and then just sell my Scarlet Dragon.
 
Epic mx to Epic w. Should you pay a deposit? In case you do, how much is it?
 
Thanks for info Brent. Any ballpark costing for the Raven to Epic-W upgrade cost? Is it safe to assume the "SW sorry pricing" won't apply?

If you are RAVEN deposit guy, same price as SCARLET-W deposit guy top get into EPIC-W. If you have a RAVEN, you are, obviously, paying more for an EPIC-W than a guy with a SCARLET-W….
 
So now the question is:

WHAT TIME ON OCTOBER 11TH?

I'm on a shoot that day, but don't want to miss the fun if possible.
