  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

*sigh* Finally got my RED Raven, and my DSMC2 4.7" monitor fails to be of any use after minutes of powering on. Screen tears, a bunch of lines that resemble fixed noise patterns, and have the latest firmware since the Raven shipped with it. Submitted support ticket. Just a let down after being a September pre-order, the long wait, finally getting it and then not usable.

Chris.

you have posted this issue on several threads already. There have been reports of similar issues with the 4.7 monitor. I think seeking advice on solving the problem is more productive. I've heard there are some settings for the refresh rate that helps, and also some firmware updates. Have you started there?

Weapon MG is actually in kinda a cool spot. It can go "Sideways" to Epic-W Helium , or upwards to Weapon Helium.
Hmmmm. Interesting. Sideways in performance? Or sideways in price. Or, both? I was expecting price wise for Epic-W to be $40k.

Ha ha you guys must think we are nuts.

But we got o so close :

Brent, you should be hanging with your lovely wife and kids - not working during your vacation.

Jarred, I know you love to start sh*t, and baiting Brent is sport - but doesn't Kelly deserve a break...

Just sayin'

Cheers - #19

Yeah you are right. I guess I am kinda poo-pooing his vacation.

I made a deal with Brent a few weeks ago that I would let him delete anything I posted that he thought gave out too much information. That probably put him under even more stress.

So I will try and be good for the next week or so :)

Try PMing every RedUser, except Brent?

UPDATE: Let camera sit overnight, recharged batteries and re-rigged and so far LCD is working fine. Strange indeed and will keep monitoring. I thought maybe it had a back connection, however, I tried a few mounts and re-mounts yesterday and even the side mounting point with the same results. It's working now though so that's what matters to me.

Refresh rate has been played with, as I have been on multiple threads posting, and of course reading. Firmware is latest, as Raven shipped and arrived Thursday with the latest installed. I see often people talking about problems but the threads always seem to end there and not with solutions. Posted in a few threads in hopes of a response, and this one worked a little at least since you responded. Just looking for a solution, and yes, support ticket was submitted. I'm military so I know about a chain of command, which started with google, forums, and support ticket then posting. This is an attempt of seeking advice but I can understand if the negativity is unwarranted or welcomed when a good vibe is trying to be emitted through all. Apologies for rocking the boat, again, military. Hopefully a fix in sight.

Why post it in this thread? There's a section in the forum named "Bugs-Problems-Help" that might be a better place for your LCD problem.

So Jarred, you said you received bunch of sensor. When are you making a big batch delivery. Or you already did?

Yeah, "try" is the operative word here.

And, yes, that is a real email I sent Jarred. We arrive and see the local cable company trucks all over. Internet down. And Kelly smiles a little smile...

Yea I hear he doesn't have one man? Then we can get around his influence? Facebook!

Truth be told,

Are things like the two of you go thru on a regular basis and what we see here, and from knowing the both of you in person for th east decade that makes things around here and with RED that much more "SPECIAL" then with any other company out there...

I posted here because this is the only thread that received responses. The responses were more people upset with the post then helping, but a response is better than none, nonetheless. I'll learn to be more reserved with my issues in the future.
