  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I gotta agree it has been interesting reading. Amazing actually and goes to show what an incredible tool a camera is - the passion it evokes from it's users.

Unlucky for me whilst filming last week I had two toes crushed by a metal ramp and forklift - my left pinkie has gone to heaven - and no I won't post the R3D.

Luckily for me being in hospital for four days and now couch bound, I've had the time to burn to keep track and read everything. Learning the refresh shortcut

The Scarlet-W deposit holders waiting get priority. But you can't wait till after the announcement to go from Scarlet-W to Epic-w, it's only those who have Scarlet-W deposits in BEFORE the announcement.
 
So much gratitude for RED. Not only have these amazing cameras drastically improved my ability as a shooter and increased my earning power, but they have helped me better tell stories for organizations doing really important things. Most of what I do right now is fundraising for non-profits. I can say with certainty that as the quality of my work has improved, the emotional aspect of my pieces has gotten stronger and resulted in more giving. It is true that a camera is just a tool, and that you can make great work with anything that records sound and images, but there is no denying that when you have a tool in your hand that not only produces amazing images, makes it easier to execute your shots, but also INSPIRES you to create at your highest level, that tool becomes more than a tool - it's an extension of yourself. That is what RED has done for me and the rewards go far beyond my own reel.

Thank you Jarred, Brent, and everyone at RED for everything you do.

One question for Jarred: if, on Tuesday I decide to switch my s-w deposit to e-w, can I later change my mind and switch it back?

When I made the switch from RAVEN to SCARLET-W my rep Kevin asked me a few times if I was absolutely sure. Flip flopping causes all sorts of problems. Hope that helps. Make confident choices guys.

Wait - that is a little confusing for my weak brain. Are you saying we need to make some sort of determination about upgrading our Scarlet-W order to Epic-W before October 11th?

I was under the impression that the October 11th announcement would provide the details on the Epic-W, the details of the order upgrade process, and the details of the financing options. Are you suggesting we have to contact our BS rep with instructions before that?

Hi Jarred, I have ordered for a "Scarlet W (Base IO package) discount for the Scarlet Dragon owner " with a $2500 discount. now i am going to switch to Epic W after a 10 month wait on the Scarlet W, What happens to the $2500 discount on the Scarlet W package we had. Scoured thru the pages for this info and could not get any. Kindly clarify. Thanks.

Does the same hold for people who have old Raven time stamps?

Just want to be clear on those that are taking advantage of the loophole to get the discount straight to Epic-W ( by putting down a new deposit on Scarlet-W ), you need to have your deposits in tomorrow, because that deal closes at the start of the announcement. You don't need to pay for the whole thing tomorrow.. just get your deposits in by the end of day tomorrow ( or if you are a gambling man before I start posting on tuesday )

You just need to have the deposit in by Tuesday and then you make the decision about moving up on Tuesday

You don't have to decide by tomorrow whether you want to upgrade or not. The 11th will reveal everything you need to know. If you contact your rep prior to the 11th you will just be told to wait until after the announcement to place your order.

Jarred, I talked to my rep nick Friday and I was planning on switching my Raven deposit from February over to scarlet-w so that we could take advantage of the drunk financing plan and any other advantages that scarlet w deposit holders will have over Raven people come October 11th. He informed me that Raven people also will be able to take advantage of the drunk financing plan since it would be pointless to have people switching from Raven to scarlet just to switch to epic-w in a couple of days. Just asking if I'm good where I am with my Raven order or if I should switch over to scarlet w for any added benefits like queue priority or financing options before the 11th? Thank you
