  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Brent, so you are saying we Scarlet Dragon owners aren't being left in the dust come Oct 11 be it with regards to the upgrade path available for us now or otherwise, correct?
 
I'm sorry if this has been asked already, I'm just a little confused... but I placed a deposit for a Scarlet-W V-mount package in January. If I want to upgrade to Epic-W at the Oct. 11th discount, I forfeit the package option and am essentially getting only the Epic-W brain? In which case I would have to just purchase the accessories separately? Thanks!

Good question. Do the folks that already received this packaged upgrade have to give all the accessories back, because they have already received them?

Actually, no. Thinking about it for five seconds, this is definitely not a factor for me, definitely not.

I'm not sure but maybe nobody that upgraded from dragon to scarlet-w received the package yet...

I already sold my Scarlet Dragon (ownership is still under me atm), so I hope being in pre-order status for Scarlet Dragon Owner Scarlet-W is good enough!

I was hoping to pay $21,000 (deposit down), hope I don't have to jump to $24,000, cause that's pushing it for me... :(

Already have $1,000 deposit down, so I think this means simply moving the order over. :)

If I understand this correctly (guesswork):

if you already have an order in for a Scarlet Package and want to upgrade then you would still get the accessories that were in that package but commit to an extra ($10,000 IIRC) for the upgrade to weapon and maybe your existing deposit would become your deposit on the Epic-W package - possibly with no additional deposit as that is how it worked with Raven to Scarlet-W. Or if it is an additional deposit - as Brent suggested in his previous post - it would be a fairly small deposit (i.e. $1000 or less).

And if you are already a Scarlet-W owner (like myself) your upgrade price would be ($10,000 IIRC) and your deposit would be some relatively painless amount i.e. again $1000 or less - (less would be nice Brent - still making payments on the S-W lease :wink5:) and you would keep whatever accessories you already have and it would just be a brain exchange or upgrade since your accessories would work fine with the Epic-W.

I hope that's the case, but I interpreted his previous reply differently. He basically said it's your choice to move from the benefits of a previous package in order to upgrade. He was referring to a Dragon to Scarlet-W package question but it must apply to regular Scarlet-W pre-orders as well. So I think you have to dump your package in order to get the Epic-W brain. Which is fine, you can just build a package yourself.

But that costs $2,050 more than we were planning for the same accessories (if we remove the entire package, and just get Epic-W brain, for $20,000) Which is more or less what I'm hoping doesn't happen, haha.

Scarlet-W brain is $10k and the v-mount package if I recall, is $14.5k. So even if the the package was included, you're still looking at $24.5k for everything. I don't remember how much exactly you save with the package but I don't remember it being that much. The $10k off the Epic-W is still worth the sacrifice regardless.
 
would make sence if you decide to switch to epic-w that you will need to forfit your "Package" and use new the camera builder on red.com but i dunno. i just got a brain originally and then bought ala carte

Maybe for new orders, but Doesn't seem like they would make you send back accessories you already own??? That work for the upgraded camera too.
