  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The Ultimate Split/Data Wrangling for RED

So what, in all, does it actually do? And how is the LTO connected to the MBP?

Sorry for the late post guys, been out on location. It's a full HD split plus bomb proof data wrangling for RED. The LTO is hook up via ethernet as it is an A series.

As for cost I will have to get back to you as I need to add up all the parts I bought but they do add up as you have approx:

LTO3A ($7000), Macbook Pro($3000), MXO2 ($1600), 4 drive Raid 1 ($2000) Case, Monitor, Gadges, and lots of electronic parts.

It will not go into production as it took a lot of effort and time to build, unless someone want to pay me a lot of money!!

Cheers, Chris

Bit of a thread hijack here, but related.

Does anyone know if this Delkin eFilm Express card CF reader works with the RED 16GB cards?

Yes it does. I use it regularly.

This looks like a whole lot of hard work.
Is that a screen for external playback in the hood?
How on earth are you running an LTO drive from 12V power?
And won't you need AC power to charge that laptop - or do you just carry an extra battery on set?

Loving the setup, though.
