New Technology goes through three stages:

First it is ridiculed by those ignorant of its potential.
Next, it is subverted by those threatened by its potential.
Finally, it is considered self-evident.

Thomas Edison

Thomas Edison

I think that is based on a quote from Thomas Edison that goes something like this about his inventions,

First, they tell you your invention cannot work that you are a fool and misguided, that its a waste of time and money.

Second, they tell you your idea is so simple anyone could have thought of it, that you have done nothing new at all.

Third, they tell you they thought of it before you did and you copied them...

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
Arthur Schopenhauer
German philosopher (1788 - 1860)

make it work...

make it work well...

then make it pretty.

That fits.
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."
Jesus (John 14:6)

er, no Richard. This doesn't fit at all, in many ways. What the other quotes are talking about is reality.
What you're endorsing and advertising for is a tale of fantasy mixed in with the political reality of ancient times, with no truth or basis attached to that 'bible', only purpose...purpose that Schopenhauer addresses below:

"Religion is the masterpiece of the art of animal training, for it trains people as to how they shall think."

and to push outwards from that idea.....

"It is only a man's own fundamental thoughts that have truth and life in them. For it is these that he really and completely understands. To read the thoughts of others is like taking the remains of someone else's meal, like putting on the discarded clothes of a stranger."

That's all somewhat ironic coming from Edison, especially the 3rd one.

Quote: [A report on the camera was published in the British Photographic News on February 28, 1890. On 18 March, Friese-Greene sent a clipping of the story to Thomas Edison,]

Quote: [In 1921 Friese-Greene was attending a film and cinema industry meeting in London. The meeting had been called to discuss the current poor state of the British film industry. Disturbed by the tone of the proceedings Friese-Greene got to his feet to speak but soon became incoherent. He was assisted in returning to his seat, and shortly afterward slumped forward and died. His grave can be found in London's Highgate Cemetery. A memorial designed by Edwin Lutyens describes him as "The inventor of Kinematography".]

Interestingly enough the same guy publicly electrocuted an elephant attempting to prove Tesla's AC was wrong.

Shot a short movie. Got an IMDB credit, too. Not recommended to watch, though.
