Well, it looks like Sony came to their senses and put in 4:2:2 10-bit 8K video into the Sony A1!
While the Nikon Z9 has a lot going for it with internal RAW (for now depending on the outcome of RED's lawsuit), 8K 4:2:2 10-bit video with external Prores RAW isn't too bad of an option with the Sony A1. Personally, I would opt for the Nikon Z9 just because of the Z-Mount/E-Mount adapter possibilities to get the best of both lens-wise but the A1 now sits in the competition quite nicely, that is, short of getting internal RAW somehow with another update or until Sony releases such a camera to do that (maybe the FX9 replacement?). The A1 truly is what I would have wanted the A7S III to be so it's great to see that actually come true now with this update and it's no longer hampered with 4:2:0 8K limitations internally.
