  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I've just ordered the BP7000, and looking forward to it. Been working with the Zacuto baseplate in a Zacuto Stinger configuration, but the shoulder mount is too far to the back, leaving to much weight towards the front. What looks to be good about the BP7000, is that the shoulder pad pushed forward beneath the camera itself, and pressed further upwards toward the bottom of the camera (less distance between shoulder and the brain). Also the handles look nice on the Shape BP7000, as they are separate from the rods which hold the focus pull etc. And the Sony baseplate, awesom! No more tear on my vinted tripod head and sliding baseplate! Great!

Anyways, just me being excited about my purchase. Anyone have any experiences with this? Does it work?

I have gotten it, and have configured it. This is an absolutely awesome baseplate for a Scarlet setup. If you get a viewfinder setup, where you can get the height down below the top-plate and into eye level, this config works. I use the Wooden Camera viewfinder setup. The two things that make this setup perfect for shoulder work is the the pillow is right beneath the camera itself, getting the weight distribution perfect, instead of forward heavy. And the handles, being not attached to the front rods. I love the idea of getting that strain of the front 15 mm rods, and onto some sturdy Rosette mounts instead. Nice to finally be able to quick-lock the camera onto a Sony/Panasonic baseplate on the tripod. I see the hunt for the perfect baseplate to be over. This is it for me. On to other things :)

Only thing I don't like is that you have to take the pillow itself of the baseplate before attaching to tripodbaseplate.
