  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

"The RED dress"

Hey Ketch - you forgot to say when you're expecting to shoot this? :-)

"The Red Dress" says everything Ketch. Works wonderfully on all levels. The color red can have many interpretations, it leaves a sense of mystery, passion, and Dress obviously makes us think of a female character, or somehow related to a "passionate story", when you connect both words. Two words make it easily rememberable, easy to articulate. Also great for print material and for titling. This is a top notch title that catches attention. With that I'm sure you'll get even more people jumping on the bandwagon! Hope to see the "Red Dress" Feature!!
 
Thanks for your tough Sergio, truth is I had been thinking of this a long time, actually this was the intended title to begin with, but didn't want to use it because of RED, 5 years a go, might have seemed fanboy/ssh kind of to use it, and then the use of an actual act within the film as the title spiked such a controversy, that actually pushed me harder to use it despite all controversy.

But times do change, and actually this morning I decided to do this and registered the name at last... So as I am and always will remain of open mind, I will consider this... AGAIN... ;)

But let's see first how the Short goes and what I can pull thru for it, and it's final results, then I'll revisit what is to be done about the title for the feature Film.

Excluding "us" (redusers), those that know you and have worked with you, the general audience will never associate this with the Red Camera. No confusion at all Ketch and, again, a great, attractive, INTERNATIONAL title. I'm 100% sure you'll pull this short off . (Personally I would do a "Robert Rodriguez" and do some "mood Scenes" for investors. Since you're a bit tight on personnel this would do great as both a "Kickstarter reference" and something to show your investors without demanding the ressources of doing a successful short). Doing a great short demands almost the same support you've been getting for "ROAB", but a couple of scenes done great doesn't and can showcase everything you can do! Anyway, whatever you do, you'll definitely "make it", Ketch. My 2 cents!
 
And right you are about that too Sergio, just that I am here so much and consider this community so important I never overlook it's impact or the impact to it on all that I do... That said, I am now more then ever seriously considering this, and "The RED dress" could indeed end up been the new Tittle for my feature... Could... ;)

Yeah, I really like the title as well. One thing about the title ROAB... there's a chance Kickstarter may reject your campaign entirely if you submit a project with that name. They reject a lot of projects.

I'd love to help out on a gear front but I have nothing in that equipment bracket. :(

If you need any help with anything at all I'm around for most of the summer, but shooting three separate projects so its a bit crazy. Where is the shoot and when is the shoot I see if I can help out? Great to see this happening!

Thanks Brandon! No issues with any social media as I already have the title, as far as it is al one word no problems at all, but as I said, if I went with the title I went for this short in representation there is a reason for... Now back to the meaning of this Tread.. ;)

Thanks Luigi! ANd yes we are neighbors now indeed, and sorry I didn't made it out to Lugano the other day, now Insurance is back on, and will come soon... ;)

I truly appreciate that and might take you up on some and or all depending on how many we end up, but I'll also need some one very good at the Davinci wheels, or it will take me a week just to graded my self.

I hope to be able to shoot this in the next two weeks, to have it done by end of the month, and I could also do so in the weekend, the shooting part, then the Color grading and sound track, and final 4K MDCP out to follow.

Thing is that I don't have exact dates as of yet, as I'll need to work around some of the dates of those that come from the US, which incredibly so, I already have some one, and by some one I mean one of our great fellow Reduser Pro's to possibly come to help me do this, and of course been that He is also one of the top working Pro DIT's I will work my schedule around him, then Ill post those exact dates.

Thanks David! The shoot is in Modena, only an hour and a half form Florence, if you are still there that is, and I appreciate your offer, will post specific dates as soon as I get more details from the top guys coming from far.
 
And this should put the "TITLE" issue at rest once and for all... ;)

My first Feature Film will be called
"The RED dress"​
(previously know as "Rape of a beauty" or "ROAB").

Thanks to al lof those that supported the project despite of title naming, and thanks to all of you that continuously made suggestions and pushed me in the right direction... I look forward to make you proud... ;)​
