I searched the forum and couldnt find anything so i figure ill ask...

What is Red going to do with Philip Bloom's Epic?

Ill gladly take it in any condition and use it on every job im on. I wish i could buy my own but i spent all my lifes savings plus a couple loans for school when I should have bought an Epic. I dont want to rent the camera out but rather use it for my own projects.

Just thought id be the first to put my name on it in the event of a Red Christmas Miracle.

Probably because you didn't specify that you mean to buy it as used in any conditions, so to save money from new... ;)

Hahaha now i see. Thank you Ketch.

Yes i dont mean as a free hadout, im no charity case. Im saying as far as how it will be resold since it has been used quite a bit and if it will go for sale listed under Battle Tested. This would be the only way i could afford one. I should have been more clear. And yes id take it in any condition used as long as it functions properly. I dont care how it looks. :)

Sorry for the confusion.

I doubt this will happen. Case closed would probably mean they boxed the EPIC somewhere for storage...

Are you serious? Why the hell would they retire it and not sell it with the other battle tested gear? What would be the point of storing it? It's not a museum piece.

Dead serious. Selling it would open a whole can of worms that nobody really wants...

I seem to remember his blog post about him returning it precisely because it didn't work properly...and some other reasons as well.

but as Jim said, case closed. let bygones be bygones...

That's what factory refurbished or "battle tested" sales are all about; turning around returns and repaired units. I could understand holding off for a little while before offering Epic among the battle tested, (to avoid the can of worms) but I can't see why you wouldn't recover it.

Does it matter?

Reducation is probably a good bet...

Bloom isn't the first or only customer to return a camera to RED.
