I really Love what Ellen brings to whole gig. And what a photo op! It had like a million hits just minutes after it was taken. And I guess one pizza dude has a pretty cool story to tell for some while to come.

But I have to wonder. What happened to John Travolta? I get he's had a pretty major tragedy, and a few bumps along the recent way as well, but something seemed really - surreal? A few others up there kinda made me wonder, but 'ol John, I just wasn't expecting it.

All in all, I think it was a pretty nice event. Happy '!2 Years a Slave' took top picture, and really happy a hitherto unknown took best supporting actress. Some very cool effects up for honors, as well as cinematography. No surprise on Spike taking home the little man for his writing work.

Still not sure nobody called me :)

Oh, and call me Jackie-come-lately, but just heard this song for the first time.

Just watching Sky news here and a Caroline Frost the Huffington posts film critic. When asked if the film Gravity was a runaway winner she said no, you have to strip away the Oscars awarded for technical effects as they don't count.

Uh, okay. Then why have them? Let's take out costume and make-up as well. Lol.

You gotta wonder why she considers Direction, Cinematography, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, Original Score, and Editing to be "technical effects." Granted, the Best Visual Effects award is for technical effects.

It appalls me that somebody who calls themselves a "film critic" is so apparently unaware of the filmmaking process to discount all the different branches of the craft necessary to pull off a film this remarkable.
