  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The Oct 29th cut-off

Allow me to engage in a bit of wishful thinking here.

(Check out my thread to see where I'm coming from.)

How about a slightly expanded STAGE THREE for people like me, who simply couldn't afford to buy a RED ONE before the cut-off date, but can afford one now-ish?

By 'expanded' I mean STAGE THREE with a net price of $12,000 instead of the standard $10,500, and eligible to people who bought their RED ONE before December 1st 2009.

How about it, Mr. Jannard?

Guys...

We're all gentlemen here, so let us reason together.

Fact. The Red company has given us a lot - graciously.

The purpose of this REWARD was just that. It was not meant as a promotional scheme, but rather an act of appreciation and gratitude towards those who decided to support the company. No, not everyone was able to support them financially - but those that did are being rewarded. That doesn't mean those who didn't are being punished, so let's not get fussy about it.

Fact. We all knew good well for a long time now that anyone who bought a Red One would get a $17,500 credit with Red, in addition to preferential treatment. This is not about Red wanting to send out their One's so they can get them right back for no reason at all. That's just silly.

If you're like me and don't have $17,500 to throw down - that's just that. However, if you KNEW you were going to spend this much on an epic... what do you have to complain about? You had every reason to invest. And even now... you can STILL buy a used RED One and be eligible - as long as you register it with Red and the warranty has not been voided. If there is anything unfair about this it's not on the negative end.

Fact. There is no reason to complain.

Would we have the company bankrupted by handing out free goodies all the time? Let's be thankful for what we have, and for what's been given to us. Let us be reasonable and helpful in our words with others...

I make a motion for the declaration that this issue be resolved with a simple thank you to the Red Company for their generosity and fairness thus far. Whatever grievances anyone may feel upon them, we let go.

be cool.

Haha, thanks Brad, I'll remember that for next time. Ben Franklin used to sign all of his scientific documents with some phrase (that now escapes me) that was Latin for "end of discussion". This would be an appropriate place for it I believe.

quod erat demonstrandum

Good post, Paul. My post was just wishful thinking, like I said. I guess I'll spend a few days actively seeking a used RED ONE with non-voided warranty.
