  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The new RedUser look

Am growing more accustomed to the new look. Once you get into the posts within a thread, it's an easy read. But if there was one change I would like to see, it would be that every other thread on the "New Posts" page would vary ever so slightly in shade. When I look at the threads now, there is nothing to distinguish one from the other and I have to use discipline to keep from averting my eyes.

I like it the way the posts look, but I do feel like some of the others that the new post pages needs to have something to make it easy to tell one post from another.

Yes Roberto, becase Reduser site didn't let me to do it and after several attempts I simply lost my interest in it ... ;(

Ok, so I dont like it because new design lost lucidity of versions before. Alter style as you wish, but please dont throw away what worked before. Here are too many distracting useless thin lines in every box! Omg! Text in Replies/Views column which I used for quick orientation, used to be way more readable than now. I dont remember if it was on a right or left flag or how but it was just better. Also contrast between colors of posts boxes and background is not well tuned, it ugly blends togehter. I guess that people with affected visual perception can get some problems with it. Maybe it works well on 6bit notebook dithering LCD screens I don't know, but definitelly not on my CRT. ... In forums information, good readibility and orientation are priority, style is secondary. Lucidity and orientation is lost here and therefore I dont like it. ... changes for changes
 
Really? Weird... I really liked your avatar, but now the gray kills me. Maybe try again now?

Keep in mind there might have been other changes that make it easier to manage, on their end. And we might still see some minor tune-ups to the look. I think it is pretty dialed in already. I am fine with it on an LCD with very good color, though not actually a CRT or pro-LCD so I might have a touch of "help". I do like the style. The only thing I miss are some of the buttons that were quicker. As for visual queues for quick navigation, I think we'll get used to it.


Two small suggestions:
Maybe the "Subscribed Threads" could be better as a single-click action since it is a popular one to keep track of threads we are interested in.
And maybe the gray of the body of the posts could go a little tiny bit further down. Just a little scoach more.
