  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The most pimped out 5DmkII you will EVER see

To me, using the Primo is kind of silly and overkill. In my experience, an L-series still lens will be just as good, if not better, and a whole lot less trouble. The 5D2 just isn't 1080p. More like 720p. Plus you have the issue of moire pattern and other artifacts.

Lol, it looks like Panavision has built a little rod system where the battery grip usually is...

That Primo picture should have had a link!
It is from Shane Hurlbut, ASC Blog where there are a lot of thoughts of set ups, experiences and thoughts on what lenses are good, Nikon, Zeiss, Canon, for different shots on the 5DII video.

Hurlblog - the Blog for Shane Hurlbut, ASC (when the link is working again - probably overloaded because Vincent Laforet linked to it yesterday.)

I agree. Trying to put the big stuff on the 5D is to ignore it's strengths. It's best as a little bitty portable thing that can make passable pics in situations no big camera could before.

Phil, on the betacam rig how to you press the buttons on the 5DmkII back? all the controls that you need acces sot are obstructed by the Betacam body.

pretty sure this is more pimping....

Jimmy Stewart could have used that in Rear Window.

I shot an ad with my Red and this camera was used as second unit. I talked the editor and in the end cut he said he decided not to use any of the 5D footage as it was "too noisy" compared to the Red Footage and he did not have the time to try to fix the noise and grade it to match the Red footage.

Other than than the usability of the 5D in this setup was quiet good.

Cheers, Tim.
