  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The men who stare at goats

Based on a hysterical (supposedly true) book by Jon Ronson.

Details the "truth" behind the CIA program for remote viewing and psychic development (which supposedly was a farce and a total embarrassment - despite this Hollywood practically creating a movie genre out of the program).

The people involved refused, despite clear overwhelming evidence to the contrary, to accept that nothing psychic ever happened.
.
Truth is funnier (and more mundane) than fiction it seems. I loved the book.

The movie is very funny. Clooney plays wide eyed manic crazy very well.
Read Ebert's review, he links to some Youtube interviews with the book's author talking about the real program. Pretty nuts. :001_tongue:

I didn't mind it, thought it was quite good in some areas, keeps a smile on your face and there are some 'LOL' bits but nothing much otherwise. I expected a bit more I guess but then again everyone I went with thought it was mediocre. Still not as bad as some movies I've seen this year...
