  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The Meizler Module... The Details.

Just to highlight the wish to use RTMotion motors and controller with the Messier module. They are very good.

the new Arri controller is very slick...

it actually has loads of features not mentioned.. I think they have finally got the product right (and I say thay slightly gutted as I have 2 Arri LCS based on the WCU-3) so I hope it is suported as well..

+1.

I know Preston are the dominant system (at least here in Toronto) but if I'm buying a system, the WCU-4 look like the one I'd want to put my money into.

These are very nice and are designed to work with Preston and C-Motion systems, so hopefully they will work with the Meizler Module as well.

+1 on compatibility with the ARRI LCS system.

Here in Europe, lots of rental houses do work with them and very often they are part of the rental package.
If there is too much hassle to get to work with the Epic, lots of DP's just end up with the Alexa.

Ahh, great, thanks Ketch

NO problem, but now I had to correct my post I put one too many numbers, delivered by 20212 would not be a good thing for us, unless they Frozen us all, which by then I imagine that it would become a Antic piece of tech any ways he he.

Very nice. Very impressive. A lot of money for a indy filmmaker.

+1 on separate proxy module.

I haven't read all the last 17 pages, but has anyone yet addressed the missing 4:4:4 ?

Kudos for the Meissler - it's the integrated all-in-one module that'll make the cam complete! Strong buy.

But nearly every production nowaday (that isn't shooting RAW) is accustomed to the convenient Log in 4:4:4 workflow.

Even if I just render daylies the producers demand 4:4:4. IF the Meissler could manage easy to edit 4:4:4 Redlog Film it would open great opportunities for a lot of jobs. "2k is good enough" is stuck in the heads of producers around the world and with this single feature nobody could ask for more.

PLEASE consider 4:4:4 in Redlog Film. It will change the "strong buy" to a "must buy" for everybody that deals with the Alexa all the time.

Another unrelated question that might have been asked before:

Will we be able to shoot 100fps MXF directely?

I've read that "record highspeed during playback" is on the soon-to-come feature list - so does that imply that shooting highspeed to proxies directly will be impossible even in the future?

Will the Red Mini Mag be available when the mod ships? Also, where does the Red Mini Mag go?

The way to do it now.. and works well is to playback the slo motion shot in camera and press record proxie... in the Meissler. ITs the only way.. unless you downconvert ..

Will there be a Mini Mag station available with the release of the Mini Mags?
