  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

heh heh... I was just about to post the video here. It was really spontaneous thing. Just took my iPhone and tried to get it out as soon as possible for you guys that couldn't make it to IBC. You will definitely see pro interviews with a polished sound and everything pretty soon. :001_cool:

btw. I had a blast at IBC! Really cool to get hands on the Meizler Module and RED SYNC app.. looks pretty good! :)

We are actually going to launch this 5 hours ago, but I put a tracker on your browser refresh button to see if I could get you to break 100 refreshes before lunch. When you hit 101, it will magically appear in the RED online store.

??? Color bars on Ipad??? What the hell is that for?

I find the Meizler just incredible but why develop this Ipad app? It's a toy. I can't figure how a AC would bring the fragile Ipad on set when he can control the cam with the Touch LCD, Side Handle, Body, Redmote.

This is good news indeed as I am desperate for a solution. I was very dissappointed by the Samurai and expect a far more elegant solution from Red.
Can the Meizler Module have its Codec recording ability updated? Over the next few years Apple will update its Codec or alternatively newer and better codecs will arrive. I would hope to see many years service from the Meizler and its soon to arrive smaller cousin but I would be suprised if Apple Pro Res in its present form will still dominate
 
Well it's more aimed at Dp, I guess. Sometimes it's good to show off with clients,when shooting advertisement

As an Ac, iPad app is really user friendly, even more than the epic menus. A keyboard can be so much better than the jog too.

Well now i guess i need to Hit refresh a lot to keep RedUser happy

BTW if you put a tracker on My browser for Red.co then you know what i want for Christmas...;)

Hey Jarred, I noticed from a video with Ted that the slate app looks a lot like the movie slate app, which I have and love, did you build it off their system or did they build it for you? Just curious, it looks amazing!
 
And iPad battery life is way longer than REDmotes :)

Any chance for an update on the wireless monitoring system? I remember talk about creating a module worked the same way as the Meizler module, but purely dedicated to wirelessly broadcasting video.
 
I went to IBC, to see the Meizler and decide if I was going to order one. Left on Saturday morning, and missed the friday afternoon Red show which was announced on thursday...
Nevertheless, I went, I saw, they won. I was up this moring at 9am euro time, thinking it's midnight in California, reservations are going to open... nope. Early aftenoon I headed over to the Red booth, official word is: reservations would open at 8am Cali time, 5pm IBC time. At 5 I would be on the plane back home, so I had somebody else head over at the Red booth at 5pm to make our reservation, not possible...
I've been checking every few hours since I'm back. It's now 1:30am here, that makes it the 11th, and reservations have still not opened.
As a european customer, I feel like Red is not taking care of us for this (not complaining about all the rest !). It's just that the Meizler was the big Red thing for IBC, I got to see it sure, and the iPad app, which is great by the way, but I missed the Red presentation and have not been able to order, I was hoping being at IBC would allow us, for once, to be a little privileged, in as far as oredering the Meizler...
Well, it's definitly bed time here, are reservations going to open during the night here, and when I wake up in the morning I will be far behind in the orders? Hope not...

Damien, there is no delivery priority assigned as to where you order from. Just like at NAB, people who ordered at our booth on RED.com were in same queue as people ordering from RED.com around the world.
