Sounds like a perfect post-REDucation activity.

[Neil Larson]

I thought it was shot entirely on RED, but the BTS showed all film. Did they shoot VFX plates on RED?

[Steven Parker]

I saw the picture at Paramount with a Q&A with Peter Jackson and most of the cast. Peter said 20-30 shots were done with Red, mainly aerials and greenscreen work.

[Julio Quintana]

Wait. I thought the entire movie was shot on RED?

[XiaoSu Han]

Marketing works eh?

[Shawn Nelson]

Wait. I thought the entire movie was shot on RED?

Nope. Project went 35mm. According to IMDB the Red was used for afterlife aerials.

They had some shots on RED as Shawn mentions... Lovely Bones was shot quite along time ago remember, when we were just coming out of the gate.

[Julio Quintana]

Damn. I've been telling everybody it was shot on RED.

[Steve G]

Saw it last week at a preview screening in London. Have to say, it looks great, but it is his weakest film.

I'll have to see it when it comes around my way. It must be an amazing feeling to walk into a theater to see a movie directed by Peter Jackson that was made possible, in part, by something you helped create. I know I would be beaming with pride. And this is still just the tip of the iceberg. How exciting and exhausting it must be to be on the Red team. Congrats again to all of you who make these tools(toys) that help great minds tell stories. And above all, have fun and enjoy the picture show.

Looks like an 18-50 red zoom on there too.

Looks like a Zeiss prime to me.

On second looking, could be a Red zoom actually...

With 3 gear rings? It's an 18-50.
