The Lonely Moan 3.0 - A Narrative Film Inspired by the World of "Blood Meridian."

The Lonely Moan is a compilation of 2nd-Unit landscape photography for a narrative film about a young man gravely wounded in enemy territory and far from home. Inspired by the world of 'Blood Meridian' by Cormac McCarthy.

Music for this particular piece: "Fog Tropes," by Ingram Marshall. "Quelling Place" is by Steve Roach.

The Lonely Moan is being filmed in 4K resolution with the RED ONE Digital Cinematography Camera and will pick up with the RED EPIC-X when released.

Beautiful, Joe. :-) Hope all is well.

Thank you Siddhartha.

Thank you, everybody!

That was quite simply stunning, Joe.

I have to ask, was there much in the way of color correction? Or is this mostly on-camera filtration?

Btw, I loved the sound design as well, really contributed to the feeling of desolation.

J

Hello John! I often do use some filtration, though it is usually light. Sometimes one from the Chocolate series or an Antique Suede when shooting in drab mid-day settings. Sometimes I will use a grad when the situation allows. Mostly though, I achieved the look for this project simply by carefully grading in Red Cine X. And I agree, the sound design for any project should be carefully planned.

Gorgeous footage, Joe. Hope to work with you again soon.

Thanks Chris. Reco was a great experience and one of the best shorts I have ever been a part of.

Thank you so much, Sanjin!
