  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

@ Liam, So today could be the day!!. Whooooeee. Is Australia ready for this?

I didn't know your on the C.C. I should be able to sense it's arrival because I'm taking a break & actually pluggin away on this keyboard down at Pearl beach right now. My fast touch screen + bits should be only a few days away as well. So if you don't get your side handle, we'll work out something so you can start shooting with it, as I'm may need someone to work test it out for me in preparation for when my cam arrives ;) Thanks for the offer sounds like a real possibility. May Fedex deliver to your address 1st, ENJOY.
 
Today was probably their first day back. I assume we'll see action by the end of the week. I just really hope that I don't get the camera body and get stuck waiting for the LCD.
 
Just trying to get my bearings here... are we starting to see non-Event Al Canon mounts shipping?
I was at the event, and got the allocation email on December 21, but haven't heard a peep since.
 
Shipping yes. About 5 a week it appears (and it's being generous, based on the list). I really hope they speed this up.

No clue what they're up to at this moment, I think they allocated all Event goers, I think they're shipping non-event scarlets already and are a couple into it. But it's been pretty quiet the last 2 weeks with the holidays.

Agreed Thomas, I just lost a week long job that required me having my own camera...I know they're busting there butt over there though. Patience will pay off and be worth it in the long run.
 
I was starting to get a little frustrated watching event cameras not only ship but be delivered from higher SO numbers then mine when they all seemed to be allocated on the same day... In fact I had just sent an email to my bomb rep earlier today inquiring about this. A little disappointing but I am happy to say I just got my shipping notice from FedEx. This is really exciting... hasn't quite hit me yet. I should have it Thursday as it usually takes about two days for red Packages to get here to Reno, NV. SO#1207 at the event, Canon AL Mount.
 
Brent basically said SO numbers don't play much importance in the shipping progress.

I think the rent/lease/buy equation has changed ... in the old days ... 90% was rented ... but I now expect any low end (i.e. 1080p shoot) ... to be owned by the camera guys(i.e. people that shoot with canon 5d,scarlet,f3).
So the trend is only the epic/alexa stuff is mainly rented or bulk purchased for large productions(even the concept of "buy" for independents is more compelling now too btw). I'm not sure RED understands this change in the base users for the scarlet vs epic (i.e. scarlet is buy/lease, epic is rent (with the uber "hobit" type crowd buying bulk). Anyway ... part of the hyperness on the scarlet people is they are this new user group of the buy/lease - which means delays directly effect their bottom line (and it's always been savage to survive in the industry).

Yup, it's how it goes I guess...not sure what I can do haha. I really have no work editing, graphics or really in any way right now. Just kind of watching my inbox and unpacking.

I got a email on the 28th telling me to respond to get my 5" touchscreen shipped, and had to reply within 3 days...i responded, was told it was seen...got that email again today. I'm confused.
 
I've just approved shipping for the LCD, 2 Redvolts, Redmag, the SSD, and charger. Everything except for the brain and the side handle, no idea when these will be ready.
