  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The List - Please maintain

Good to hear Lliam. Another advantage of getting the declaration notification by e-mail is that it will come with a PDF copy of your import declaration form, which will have listed on it the exact contents of your package, that way you can find out in advance whether or not your side-handle or LCD monitor etc are included in the package.

I've been getting bugger all sleep for weeks actually. So busy lol. Exciting day. Biggest hope is that there's a side handle inside...

Ok, my turn for drama, lol.

I just got a call last night. If the Scarlet lands here, ready to work, by Jan 20th, I will have a DP job. If it lands by March, I will have it rented out and have an AC gig.

Now, I did not persue these people, but the grapevine let them know I had a scarlet coming, and they found me!

Also, I have no expectation of Red to fill this order by then because Red made no promises.

The expectation I have is a reasonable hope that it lands by the end of February, because that's when they should be out of back order.

.... though a teensy tiny part of me hopes that my pleasant understanding help it get here faster, even though I would never want to line jump, lol. Maybe it will just make things work much much faster.

Anyway, no pressure Red! Honest-ish.

It was my understanding that the February backorder comment was in relation to accessories - not necessarily to Scarlet or Epic orders.
That doesn't mean you won't get yours by February... but I would expect there to still be a backorder of Scarlet's by then.

As time keeps passing by I think more will feel this way. The wait is what it is, we can't do much but its hard to see opportunities slide by for others. Hopefully you get your camera soon Jeffrey! Those sound like great opportunities for you.
 
I've managed to lose out on at least 5 production days. Argh. Need an Epic or Scarlet.
 
I know it can be frustrating but you have to remember that Red is a new company that is growing. It's better to think about how many of your projects would not be 4k if it were not for red creating these cameras. They are not the size of canon, and need to grow in a smart way. Adding lines may seem to be the logical thing, but it comes at a great cost in investment. I think Jan will be a great month for many of us on this list. Hopefully it won't be much longer for you Jeffery.
 
Never lost a gig for not having a red. I am sure I will get new gigs and go for different work with the red but just thus week we are shooting a short on the 5d. I do belive if its ment for the big screen then I would rather shoot on red but the images we are making are wondeerfull because we know how to use the tool.I also rent reds for gigs that need then,but do wish the scarelt was here this week :)
 
Oh well, as we customers seem not worthy to become even a hint of an estimated timeframe i can in no way put anything out about owning a scarlet, because i have no idea if mine comes in febuary, june or next year... and in my eyes i would see myself not a professional promising jobs without even have a scarlet in my hads for a few days..

but as always, its just me..
 
As long as the line is moving, I'm fine with the progress.
