  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The List - Please maintain

I got a shipping order today, but I presume it is for a charger I ordered. Without LCD and side handles it does not matter if they ship before everything is ready. I think that is when they get the next shipment of side handles and touch screens.

Seems that all of the big blogs, journalists and "pros" have been getting theirs out first and then the rest of the non-event list

No where close to even being true. I am no where near Pro. There hasn't been one video I made and said..."Yep, im happy with this."
I invited Thomas over, he should be here any minute to run some test, that I'll post for everyone.

haha nonsense! You'll get there!
I meant that the random AL mounts that went out earlier last week and the few that are in Europe were for Cinema5D and the likes. We're back to time stamp shipping
 
I've got a tentative name for mine. "O'Hara" . Unfortunately if mine isn't here by mid January I'm gonna have to start selling off equipment with the lack of work due to having to sell my other camera to buy this one thinking I'd have it by the end of December...Luckily I can sell an SSD. Just a little surprised to still be waiting. At what point is it OK for us to start asking questions? I mean first day, first hour or so orders still waiting.

SO 972 went out to Cinema5D blog but there is everyone before that which haven't received allocation yet, myself included.

Looks to be at #888 (at 7:54PM) as far as I know...

Feel for ya ... I would have thought we would have gotten a update last friday in the backorder thread ... but then they went "no comment" again. The whole order process at RED is just bizarre, but I really need 2k without noise for what I'm doing (i.e. using the QHD mode to get low noise 2k) ... so I'm holding steady. For my normal stuff, I'm not part of the camera decision ... so this exercise is mellowing me out when I hear about production/schedule issues.
 
I'm 947 / Al mount / non at event / not important blogger / not allocated yet but with a New Year's wish (and 4K New Year's resolution)
 
i'm sure we'll get some word fairly soon in the new year once they've cranked back up. this is all very normal, there should not be any reason for concern at this point, just continued patience. they are putting them out as fast as they are able. they are not running a huge japanese mass production facility (this is a good thing) - they are making very high quality hand assembled and extremely well tested equipment very efficiently, that's all there is to it. you'll get your stuff sooner rather than later :)

sounds like you got sum secret contacts @ RED ;-) where do you take this considerable confidence from? Do you guess, hope or know?
 
Illustra Media just received its SN#85 Scarlet via FedEx an hour ago. I will let someone else transpose this data into the unofficial spread sheet.
Ordered via Bomb Squad rep phone call 30 min after Nov 3 event ended. Did not attend event. Ordered Canaon AL mount in the complete kit.

I did not take unboxing photos etc. as my excitement has been curbed by the side handle and touch screen backorder situation. I was assured that when these items ara available that I will be on a priority list to recieve them, making the camera operationl. It's like having a Mercedes without a steering wheel, looks nice, but...
