Phew.... that's a well oiled TV making machine!

WOW

Latest Wrap time: 4:54 am - 9 hours, 54 minutes including lunch break - 25 setups. (Day 74 Last day of shooting - Night shoot 7p Call - Int. New Knick Construction Site)

wrapped 6 minutes shy of 10 hours.....like christmas and easter on the same day. Our local producers could learn from this.

When I visit the set I always feel like something is wrong .... because everyone is so relaxed and HAPPY. The energy is unlike anything I have ever experienced on any set. And clearly, it starts at the top. Steven knows what he wants and how to get it quickly. When someone can get the total respect of the entire crew - it's magic. It is how it should be, but rarely ever happens. You won't find a single crew member on The Knick that won't tell you it's the best job of their career.

I REALLY hope Steven stays in the Episodic world and The Knick keeps rockin'

So nice to see he is proving it can be done properly, within limits without killing people or compromising the product.

Great economy in shot selection there in a hugely expressive way. How about that long shot of the ambulance driver in confession? We see his big feet feet, hear his voice and then killer wides of the church. It's about the church! Brilliant.

In my humble opinion, this is hands down one of the most beautifully shot shows on television. This is also attributed to the fact that the production design was the primary focus over lighting and camera since this is a historical piece. The fact that most of it is shot handheld is also an amazing feat as well. This is a show that all productions can learn from.
