  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I want to be able to ADD more shots to the render queue WHILE I AM RENDERING.

So, if I wanted to create transcodes on set - I could just keep dropping more shots in the queue.

This is WAY more exiting to me than running multiple instances of RR.

i second that emotion...

I had it in there initially but it was causing problems (time distortion fields and stuff) so I took it out. I'll look at putting it back in when I get some time.

Any chance for drag-and-drop? Would be great if we can drop clips from Clipfinder into RR.

Personally, I've always been a fan of time distortion - so ... I'd happily take that build as well.

And PLEASE can you include the original R3D path in the quicktime metadata? It would make the offline/online process so much easier.

TIA
Ziggy

I'm not sure what you mean.

Mark, Sander,

hold on for a few more days.
It's all coming.

Cheers

Okay Hans -

If you got your engine running - here's one I asked (Assimilate and RED) for a long while back -

Dynamic debayer setting which allows clips of multiple resolutions to be (4K, 2K, 3K) to use the same quality (or better) debayer.

so .... you set for 4K project, half deybaer - which means your 4K clips get a 2K debayer - HOWEVER it means your 2K clips get a 1K debayer

if you put a decision based on pixel HEIGHT /WIDTH - so, if you it hits a 2K or 3K file it uses the FULL -

Deanan - it would make so very, very happy to have this feature in RR ...

I haven't put it in yet because previous thoughts on it really complicated the UI and made things very confusing (except for you, Mark but we have to keep everyone in mind)

Now what I'm thinking is maybe we can have a "Match to 4k debayer resolution" checkbox which automatically bumps anything under 4k to full res if half debayer is selected. If Quarter is selected, then 2k/3k gets a half debayer.

PERFECT!

I'm not sure what you mean.

Deanan,

When I use log & transfer, I get the metadata for com.red.redone.originalSourcePath written into the quicktime file ingested into FCP.
However, when I use RedAlert, Red Rushes or RedLine, this metadata is not transferred. This makes it very difficult to offline at a lower resolution and then use the FCP XML file to extract the path of the original R3D file for the online. We have an in-house pipeline that depends on the metadata being available. Currently, RR, RA & RL appear to be throwing this metadata away. So if you could write at least the com.red.redone.originalSourcePath metadata, I, for one, would be very happy.

TIA
Ziggx

Are you talking about the wrappers or the transcoded quicktimes?
