There are many people here who has a great experience of work with cinematographic equipment. We would like to find out one nuance.
We carry our Red cameras in wheeled Pelican storm cases 2720 with insert foam. But we worry that if we roll cases, then cameras could lost alignments becouse of vibrations. So we carry them in hands. Is this reasonable action or we are too overcautious?
The same question concerning lens transportation.
P.S. The roads are in a really bad conditions in Russia.

My personal preferences.

If transporting by road in a vehicle you are driving, place the Pelican case near to halfway between front and rear wheels. Hard bumps from front and rear axles are smallest here by about half. Do not place anywhere in rear of vehicle behind rear wheels. Hard bumps from front and rear axles are amplified in this zone. Near tail of vehicle is the worst where hard bumps on the rear wheels are almost doubled in light trucks. Front wheels dropping down can make the rear kick up, then when the rear wheels hit the same hole in the road, the case is coming down when the rear wheels kick the rear up again. - Very violent when driving over a rocky spine in the crest of a hilltop on unpaved roads.

Place Pelican case as near to floor level as you can. Sideways shaking is less near floor. Do not transport camera with lens attached. Place Pelican case so that the optical centre line of camera and lenses is across the vehicle ( sideways ). If you place the Pelican case in the floor well between front and rear seats, make sure you can pull it out quickly if you enter flooded areas on the road. An old fibre filled pillow under the Pelican case is handy for keeping engine heat away from the camera and a bit of a softer ride as well.

Red cameras in foamed cases should be fine. Lenses are much more delicate, so do everything you can to minimise shock and vibration.
