  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

So, What's the story?

Are we going to receive the magical emails this weekend/Monday? Are we going to experience any delays due to the BASE PRODUCTION PACK having a new finish process?

Have any of the 1000-1250 cameras delivered yet? (Haven't seen any circulating yet)

This is pretty exciting. I've got a doc just waiting for this camera to arrive and we start production. The Fujinon 13X4.5 HD lens that will be it's mate arrived 2 days ago. I used it on a job already with my Sony D600. What a great lens! I've got most of the ET stuff I ordered already. The EVF mount arrives next week. The Arri FF4 is already in the house. It is coming together! Just need that RED email to finish it up.

Really? That's news to RED. We are indeed shipping that batch right now.

And, yes, #1251-#1500, expect an email from RED late Monday PT....

Quick question: What planet are you from? I am very curious to know what your geography is like. The air quality. Is it mostly Oxygen or is it something different? Do unicorns run around there? Jesus christ dude. They told me that mine will ship sometime next week. When I talked to them, they said they were slammed trying to get everything out.

Stop making up rumors. It does no one any good.

ChuckT seems to be a very bitter person....stalking the boards all day to post misinformation and negative comments...

I hope he will soon have a happy day and the sun will shine down on him!

And maybe some day when he feels better about himself he will post his real name!!!

So we're still on about 500 cameras a month...

Which means I can get back from NAB and it's aftermath before mine arrives.
 
Brent, what's the total number of cameras shipped?
 
how many cams will be delivered in april? 500 or 600?
 
my 1008 arrived yesterday but it was missing an important part which the bomb squad is supplying overnight and should be in today....those guys work their tails off....

advice for the next round of RED recipients...get your money together now, your documentation gathered, and in order, and start itemizing your current order now, and it will speed the shipping along. if you do a little legwork on your end, instead of expecting RED to pull your info together for you, you will get your camera faster.

it's much more efficient for you to get this all sorted out for them. i had all my ducks in a row and my money already transferred, and it still took a bit of back n forth to get the numbers aligned, the orders pulled together from multiple e-mail accounts and orders placed awhile back, and to get the process moving. there are a lot more moving parts to the process than i realized.

also, be nice to your Bomb Squad...more flies with honey...remember, most of them are coming into the middle of a story that was told before they were even hired, and they are doing their best to put the pieces together. keep your sense of humor, and they will work that much harder to please you.

also, don't expect a same-day response to your e-mail that responds to the e-mail blast. i know my guy worked like crazy, and it still took 2 days to get the initial response. they are still working on the batches before yours, as well as trying to get back to you, and the effect is cumulative. they aren't just sitting there waiting on your e-mail, they're still working on shipping out the 750-1250s, too. not to mention trouble-shooting details after they've arrived!

my two cents...and i think my camera is one of the first from that batch to arrive....
