  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The industry has finally engaged...

The same reason people come to "REDuser" and feel the need to constantly state that other products are better than Red.

Entertainment

The reality is its all individual preference.
Well, I guess that we all find entertainment in different things. Making films, playing music, reading or intentionally bothering other people on the internet. :P

Personally, I'm excited for the third. Two really good companies are going to be releasing new products. Hopefully they will both be strong contenders for our business.

Jim

I completely agree with you, RED ONE MX is wonderful camera and intercuts great with the EPIC, especially when shooting 4.5K 2.4:1.
The one thing I really whish RED could provide is the same Color and Gamma setting on the two cameras.
If it’s not practical to get the RED ONE to do REDCOLOR 2 and REDGAMMA 2 please at least provide the option of REDCOLOR and REDGAMMA on the EPIC.
They cut together great in post, but look so different on the set.
It can be explained to Producers, Directors and DPs that both are shooting RAW and there is no problem, but it would be nice to have them look more similar on a production monitor.
Much of the time the on set monitoring is on 17” monitors that are only 720P so the resolution difference on the output of the cameras is not what people notice, it is the LOOK.

Thank you for all the hard work that you and the RED team put into make great products that are revolutionary in terms of performance, upgradability, price and support.
Looking forward to the third, can't wait to see what new products you and your team have created.

I am trying so hard to not assume this means something. :)

...waiting for thursday.

Right with you here Jeff.

It could mean so much, or nothing at all...

:-)

...if you´d only know, how much i dig these little bits of market wisdom .... :-)) )))))

It's so cool listening to Jim and his little comments - its like he's teaching us Business 101...

:-))

"3 of a kind" , huh?

3 different models vs the rumored "2 pair" from Canon? :)

Have to agree that I'm completely hooked on this speculation build up... After November 3rd and the ordering onslaught, things will be a lot less exciting... That is, until I get my camera!

Amazing news here Jarred.

I know they will be, but if there are up to the same standards as what Alan and his team offer here at RED Europe, then RED Worldwide support will rock in 2012.

:-)

Any chance of a facility down under?

I love this stuff. So much. Apparently we have finally got the attention of "the big guys". Now the real fun begins. And the customer wins.

Upgrades. Prices that consumers can swallow. Japan, China and Germany vs. the USA. Love it.

We fully recognize that we are the underdogs in this fight. Just the way we want it.

Pick your partner wisely.

Jim

Well I'm from Switzerland (Europe) but I watch your six during this fight. I'm very proud to be on this team. I'm also proud of you guys that you managed to produce this camera in the USA. Not that easy in todays economy and a great example of leadership for all the nonebelievers in the US. Keep on turning this industry up side down. Unfortunately Steve Jobs is dead but this here reminds my a lot of him. Think different is an understatement here.

Best
Tim

Ah and yeah, did some one tell you that the Epic rocks lately?
Mine does, big time...:yesnod:

A huge thumbs up for Alan Piper@Red Europe - they certainly know their stuff down there. Nice to see quality control is in staff and facilities as well as the cameras themselves...

(Hear that JVC??? ... Engage bitter rant...)
