Got a little impatient waiting on my Scarlet-W, so I borrowed a friend's Epic and made this instead.

My first RED short, shot in 6K WS with Duclos-modded Zeiss ze. Lots of fun to make.

I thought that was pretty good too.

Kind of ironic, in light of what's been said on these forums about the reliability of those Arri-clone HMI ballasts, that you actually had one fail on you during the shoot. Good to see you had a back-up plan though.

I was actually participating in that discussion a month or two ago because this was the shoot on which the ballast burnt itself up. Covered by warranty, but when I get my replacement shipped to me I'm going to have some friends do some "modifications" to try and make it more reliable. I know I would much rather like to just get a real Arri and be done with it, but can't justify the cost yet because I don't know anyone interested in renting it in the Indiana area.

I've been bringing those ancient janky tota lights on every shoot now hah.
